Football season is officially OVER!!!

Hello all, football season 2008 is officially behind us. The mighty Buccs played their first playoff game this morning at 1045. They were victorious!!! Yeah....then the wait....they had to play the first place team ( the only team the Buccs have lost to all year) for the championship and that game was later at 115pm. Alas, I am sad to report that the championship does not belong to the Buccs! They are however, the second place team which is something to be EXTREMELY proud of. Everyone was at the game rooting Scott and his teammates on. Meme, Poppy, Aunt Perry, Me, all of the kids, Robert etc. The kids made signs to show their support!!!

Allie making her 'Buccs Rock!' sign

Macie making her 'Go Buccs' sign.
(Holley was still at gym practice during the first game but she made it there for the championship game!)

Notice anything weird about this picture???

Yup, the coaches spray painted the boys hair RED!!!!
(no worries, it was temporary hair paint)

Coach Jordan (Asst. coach) getting his head painted!
(notice he has no hair to absorb the paint so it started running down his head)

Head coach Bo Phillips joining the fun!!!

The first game was very good. The Buccs played GREAT! The second not so much. The Vikings certainly outplayed us!!! They were a very good team. The boys (and their parents) were certainly proud of their second place finish!!! Holley and Allie played cheerleader!! P.S. TECH just scored AGAIN!!! I am watching the Texas Tech- OSU game!! Go Red Raiders!!!! Woo-Hoo!!
Score is 21-7 Tech up in the 2nd. Come on Tech!! (you'd think that I would have had enough football for one day after sitting throuh 3 games. (Scott's first game- a second game for 4th place- stayed so we wouldn't lose our good seats- and then the BIG game.)
Back to business.....a clip from the game for your enjoyment... Scott is #14!!!Clapping at the end. The "tank".

Allie being a cheerleader...and trying to copy Holley!!!

Big bummer 4:07 left in the half and OSU has trimmed the led to 21-14. Come on Red Raiders!!! Beat those Cowboys!!!

Holley trying to get the crowd ROWDY!

YEAH! RED RAIDERS SCORE! 28-14 AT THE HALF!!!! WOO-HOO!! Stay tuned....

p.s. I posted this and have not been able to get the video clips to work....will try to post them again. I tried to see if it was a blogger problem, don't know....I may have used too much space...I went back and was able to see the videos of Holley's gymnastics so I don't see how it is a blogger problem...guess it's a stacey problem....hee-hee

One down, one to go....

Well friends, Rachel's test results came back today and the results are good. No surgery needed at this point. Yeah!!!! No tears in anything, just a stretched tendon that may eventually need to be tightened up!! Great news. She had cortisone shots that hopefully will decrease the inflammation and pain and she has no activity restrictions. YEAH!!!! Now just my sister's testing to go....haven't gotten permission from my sister to actually discuss anything so I won't at this point but she is going to undergo some testing tomorrow afternoon. Please pray that the results will be good. I know that is so vague but I'm not sure I'd want her telling creation my business, so I will respect her privacy and ask you just to pray that Mary Austin's testing will go well and the results will be good.

Praying for Rachel (and her mom)

My sweet niece Rachel, who you may remember had her birthday on Halloween (still having trouble wrapping my brain around the fact that she's 15!!), is having an MRI of her shoulder today. She's been having some trouble with both her shoulder for months and PT didn't help so they are going the next step which is an MRI (with contrast in the joint) to see what might be going on. Please pray that the test will go well, no pain from the contrast being injected into the joint, and pray that they are able to find and treat the problem quickly, and that it will be an easy fix, nothing too serious. Please pray for her mom, my sister Mary Austin, who is understandably nervous, for peace and calmness until they get the results tomorrow at their follow up visit. She's having some medical issues herself so please also pray that she has peace until she undergoes her testing next week and that the results are good, nothing life threatening or too serious or complicated. It is going to be a tense couple of weeks around here for everyone, them, us, until we know the results of everyone's various tests. On that note, please throw in a prayer or two for my parents who tend to worry (alot- especially my mom). It's Wed. and you know what that means around here.....utter chaos. Stay tuned....

Meet Memories

Level 5 girls team salute- 11-1-08
Holley is standing in the back (can't really see her)
Level 5 girls team ready to be introduced 11-1-08
Holley is third from left. In order (from left): Hannah, Amanda, Holley, Tracy, Caitlyn, and Ellie

Before each event, the girls get to meet the judges for some last words of encouragement from the judges. It is really sweet. Most of the juges are really sweet to the girls. This is their "conference" with the uneven bars judges.

Amanda being Silly!!! What a cutie-pie

I thought that I would post some regular pics of the meet. I've already posted each of Holley's four events at some point on this blog and her routines haven't changed much. If she does an outstanding performance at state I may post it again. The state meet is in Dallas the weekend of Scott's birthday, Dec. 12th-14th. Please be praying for all of the girls, they've had a difficult year and please pray for Holley's self-confidence (regarding her gymnastics- her other self-confidence is certainly NOT lacking) to return specifically. Am working tomorrow...will try to post Wed. if anything exciting happens around here... with this group...you never know!!!Thanks.... Stay tuned.....

YEEE-HAWWWW!!!!!

YEEEEE-HAWWWWWW!!!!!How 'bout those Red Raiders!!!!!! Lubbock must have been a lively place last night!!!! Someday I hope to take the kiddies to a game!!! We got updates regularly at the gymnastics meet from the coaches last night. Half of the gyms competing were from the Austin area since they are in the same district as Boerne and San Antonio. A fellow gym parent, Brian, kept us informed through his blackberry, so we were all excited. Well, I guess just the Tech fans were excited!! So sad for you TU , fans (HA!!). I helped at the vault judges table, and they were both from Austin. HEE-HEE, I LOVED giving them a hard time. One of them laughed and said "now, when is your daughter competing?" I said "TOO LATE!!!! She competed first thing this morning!!! Ha-Ha!!" It was all in good fun. The meet is over, Holley and I are both EXHAUSTED!!! We were at the gym until 1000 (?) last night and back this morning until 530pm. But it's over. Holley did pretty well. She was unhappy with her floor score but it was a good routine. Bars was the same, stinking kip! Some day she'll get it. Beam and vault were good. Take care....off to sleep!! I'm getting sick or something, lots of congestion, sore throat, fever, ugh!!!! Hope to post some pics from the meet tomorrow. p.s. The mighty Buccs were victorious once again and beat the Cowboys in the first play-off game of the season. Scott was very excited, wish I could have been there to celebrate with you Scotty, it was a nail-biter I'm told. The score was 0-0 at the end of regulation play so they went to overtime. The Buccs scored a touchdown and then scored their extra point and the cowboys answered with a touchdown but did not get their extra point. The good thing...their playoff hopes are still alive, the bad thing... more games for mom to juggle. It's worth it though...Stay tuned!!!
